Privacy policy

Botín Gratis was designed to ask for as little as possible. This is everything that happens with your data.

What we DON'T do

There are no accounts or logins.
We don't use tracking cookies or profiling-based advertising.
We don't sell or hand over data to third parties.
We don't ask for your name, email or phone number to browse.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to measure visits in an aggregate, cookieless way: number of page views, approximate country, device type and referrer. It can't identify an individual. Standard technical server logs (IP address, time of the request) are also recorded and kept for a short time for security and diagnostics.

Notifications (optional)

If you turn on free-game notifications, your browser creates a "push subscription": an opaque URL from your browser's messaging service (Google, Mozilla, Apple, Microsoft) plus some encryption keys. We store it so we can send you the alerts. It isn't your identity and we don't cross-reference it with anything else.

You can turn them off whenever you want from the site itself or from your browser's permissions; when you do, the subscription is deleted from our records.

Browser extension

The Botín Gratis Chrome extension doesn't ask for an account or collect personal data. It stores on your own device, using chrome.storage.local, which games you've already seen (to know which ones are new) and whether you want alerts — that data never leaves your browser or reaches our servers. Every so often it fetches the same public list of games the site uses (/api/games) to update the number on its icon and show a native notification when a new game appears. It doesn't access your tabs, your browsing history or any other site.

Links to stores

When you click a game you go to Steam, Epic, GOG or another store, which have their own privacy policies. Botín Gratis doesn't share information about you with them when you follow those links.

Where it's hosted

The site is hosted on Vercel (servers in the US). Notification data, if you turn them on, is stored in a managed data store within the project's infrastructure.

Your rights

You can request access to or deletion of any data tied to your notification subscription by writing to guztavo.solar00@gmail.com.

Children

The site isn't aimed at children under 14 and doesn't knowingly collect data about them.

Changes

If anything relevant changes, this page and its date are updated.
